You spent most of your life in the sea. Between there - wherever it would be - and here, where we were always waiting for you, the sea was, many times, your home. So you loved the sea. And - I see now -  it was nothing but kind to you all those years. The sea loved you right back. And for the love you both shared, so do I love the sea, almost as much as I love you.

"Could this be love?" you once asked me. I din't know what to answer so I looked down, because I couldn't face your look... I held your hand and we kept dancing until our feet hurt. Now, after all those years passed, seeing how different our lives turned out and how much we grew apart, I wish I just could say to you "if this isn't love, I don't know what it is".
